Administrative Conference
It shall be the responsibility of the Administrative Conference collectively, and of each member of the Administrative Conference individually, to make decisions in such a manner as to promote the effective administration of justice throughout the state of Idaho, without preference to any area, region, or class of persons.
Subject to the constitutional authority and responsibility of the Supreme Court to administer and supervise the judicial system and its subunits, the Administrative Conference shall have the responsibility to make recommendations on the following:
The maintenance of policies for the courts;
The development and retirement of the Director (Director of the Judicial Council);
Recommended amendments to the rules regarding procedures, by rule and procedure, with regard to court judges, together with suggestions, recommendations, or comments;
The development of proposals for the adequate administration of the courts;
The development of policies relating to the courts to ensure the best possible service to the public;
The development of the Supreme Court’s budget proposals;
Suggestions for all changes in structure of the judicial system and promote the effective administration of justice;
The promotion of recruitment and retention of judges and other judicial branch employees, including steps to improve compensation and the implementation of policies;
The formulation of priorities for training and continuing education of judges and other court employees;
The development and implementation of the trial court technology and a plan to reduce crime, improve services to the courts, and otherwise promote justice;
The development of actions to ensure the diverse dispositions of courts and effective and just administrative proceedings, including the development of forms and procedures;
The development of uniform standards for the reporting of court cases and other statistical data to facilitate improved administration of the courts and to provide better information to the public;
Development of methods to increase the openness and accessibility of the courts.
In addition, the Administrative Conference shall have the following responsibilities:
A result of judicial, legislative, and court decisions to achieve effective leadership;
To plan and develop a comprehensive work program in the operation of the courts which is intended to enhance judicial services through an open exchange of ideas and information between the administrative and judicial officers of the courts and county clerks of court, and other stakeholders;
To develop general principles for the allocation, appointment, and assignment of judges and the use and deployment of court employees, and other matters that are designed to improve the administration of justice;
To deal with any efficiencies of judges and other goals for shared responsibilities.
