Advancing Justice Committee
The Advancing Justice Committee furthers the Supreme Court's mission to provide access to justice by ensuring fair processes and the timely, impartial resolution of cases, consistent with Article I, Section 18, of Idaho's Constitution. It is guided by the following principles:
Every case receives individual attention.
Individual attention is proportional to need.
Decisions demonstrate procedural justice.
Judges control the legal process.
Unnecessary delay in case processing is prevented when possible.
The Committee shall perform the following tasks:
Identify and promote court practices that enhance procedural fairness for litigants.
Facilitate development and implementation of statewide and district caseflow management plans pertaining to major case types.
Identify and promote effective caseflow management practices that reduce unnecessary delay and promote timely case processing.
Identify and recommend statutory and rule changes as appropriate.
Develop educational programs relating to caseflow management for judges and other court staff.
Identify and address technical assistance needs relating to caseflow management and procedural fairness on both a statewide and district court level.
Refine case management reports and develop other tools to support data-informed caseflow management practices.
