Media/Courts Committee
sad
The Media/Courts Committee provides an interface for news media and court stakeholders to discuss topics of mutual concern, advance access to the courts, and develop education projects to benefit all members. Its tasks include:
Assist judicial districts and local media to establish opportunities to meet and exchange perspectives. Consider trainings, seminars and other programs to better acquaint the media and the judiciary with each other and improve mutual understanding of their roles.
Update and refine publications such as the Media Guide to the Idaho Courts and the Judge’s Guide to Media. Address other ways Idaho’s media could help educate citizens about the courts and the law.
Discuss major areas of friction between Idaho’s courts and Idaho’s media, and address how they should be resolved.
Monitor the Cameras in the Courtroom rules and make any recommendations to amend the rules, as appropriate.
